Connection in the Current Chaos

The CoVid-19 pandemic has necessitated we change in order to survive. The global shutdown and the instituting of ‘social distancing’ has in a sense, shrunk our personal world. But as humans, we have a need to belong… to be part of something bigger. Creating REAL Connection now is more important than ever.

Breneˊ Brown frames it this way: Connection is “the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”

To keep that connection going, on March 25, 2020 we began doing Zoom calls with our mentors and students. Check the info below to see when and how to access our zoom calls.

A Ray of Sunshine

The Pandemic shut down began in mid-March leaving us in a scramble to figure out what was going on and how we were to live life safely. It seemed all the news was bad and getting worse by the day, leaving our REAL Mentors program in school close down limbo.

But then, a welcome ray of sunshine. Within the first few days of the worldwide pandemic being announced, our program received a grant from The Schwartz Charitable Foundation… a contribution of $1000.00. What a wonderful surprise!

This was the third grant we have received from the Schwartz Foundation. They see and support the work we are doing for the boys and girls and the Clinton community. We are blessed to have them working with us and thank them graciously for their continued support during these turbulent financial times.

Stay Safe and Keep Connected.
